PitchPulse was not designed in a lab. It was built by the lecturers who supervise the business plans, run the incubation courses and sit through the practice pitches at Universiti Utara Malaysia.

Project lead
Works on family business and SME development, entrepreneurial training programmes and franchise business management. His recent research examines how university support shapes students' entrepreneurial behaviour and careers, including teaching innovations trialled in the incubator courses.
System build & deployment
Researches relationship quality in franchise systems — trust, relational norms and franchisee loyalty and performance. Former Head of the Business and Entrepreneurship Department and Deputy Dean at the School of Business Management, and the developer behind the live PitchPulse build.
Measurement & validation
Publishes across entrepreneurship, logistics and management, with work on SME performance in turbulent environments and on social entrepreneurial behaviour among Bumiputera entrepreneurs. Brings the quantitative discipline behind the rubric's weighting and scoring.
Coursework integration
Studies entrepreneurship education and the conditions that grow entrepreneurial inclination among undergraduates, including the role of e-learning resources and entrepreneurial competencies in Malaysian SMEs. Connects the diagnostic to what students are actually assessed on.
Industry & commercialisation
Researches entrepreneurship education programmes, the role of consultation in entrepreneurial training, and diversification strategy among SMEs. Advises on how the diagnostic travels beyond one classroom — to other campuses, incubators and competition organisers.
